Life's too short
So remember way back at the beginning of the year when i set myself a no buying challenge? No buying any magazines, no new clothes for myself, no anything that wasn't 100% needed, well, i shopped.
Mostly it was down to moving house, i was so excited that i ran out and bought every single interior design mag there was. And then came my stay in hospital, from then i just thought life is too short to ban yourself from doing something you thoroughly enjoy. And shopping is something i thoroughly enjoy. I love that feeling you get when you go out in a new outfit for the first time, the smell of freshly printed pages when you open a new magazine or the first crease down the spine of a new book.
I haven't gone crazy with shopping. I have mostly brought things in the sales. And lately i am obsessed with finding treasure in charity shops anyway, which works out a lovely cheap way to shop and not use up all my pennies.
I don't feel like i have failed in my challenge. I made it half way through the year and if it wasn't for two major things happening in my life then i probably could have made the whole year. But i am quite thankful in a funny sort of way for my stay in hospital, makes you think hard about your life.
As i said before peeps, life is too short, you truly don't know what is round the corner. So if you want something, go get it. If you love doing something, don't set yourself a challenge not do it!

Folksy shop update
I have started to restock my lil folksy shop. I have added a collection of my own creation, Wonkys. They are super adorable crocheted creatures and one customer at a craft fair described them as "genius".
They were given their name as they are perfectly imperfect, they are wonky and no one is the same making each one a unique lil gift for yourself or a loved one.
you can find this one here.
and this one here
There are more to be added so keep checking back. If you would like a custom made Wonky in colours of your choice then please get in touch.
Hope you love them as much as i do.
Peace, love and lots of giggles.

Me right now
hello peeps, how are you all?
Well , my operation to have my gall bladder happened on the 29th July. It was done by keyhole surgery, just. The surgeon said it had been tricky as my pancreas was still swollen and made it hard work. But i am so glad it was done by keyhole as it hurt muchly and open surgery was have been a whole lot worse!
I have pretty much recovered from surgery, my lil wounds are healing nicely and apart from a couple of days of being violently sick i am feeling as good as new.
I feel so lucky to live in a country where our health service is free and cant thank all the doctors and nurses that looked after me at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital enough. Oh, and for giving me my gallstones as souvenir. That was a totally unexpected surprise!
I also feel truly alive and happy. As i have sat in bed recovering i have had 1001 ideas (i think far too much) and i cant do them quick enough. I have filled pages and pages with sketches and scribbles and ideas. Including for my lil ole blog. So watch this space!

hello again peeps
Hello peeps, how are you all? These last few months have been jam packed. I mentioned many moons ago on my last post that we were house hunting. Well we moved! Its a lil flat apartment (why does apartment sound posher?) in an area we love. It all happened really rather quickly and we are slowly making it a home. And i mean slowly. Every time we go anywhere near a wall with a D.I.Y object it crumbles! But i love interior design so have been enjoying coming up with designs for each room.
We are currently working on the lounge. We still have the feature wall to do and other lil bits and bobs but it is coming along perfectly. I love it when my ideas come to life.
So far it looks like this
The only room completely finished is Josh's. And i am really rather proud of that one. And even more so with the bf for doing a great job of the painting..

Perfect for a 10 year old boy, he loves it.
I cant wait till the whole place is done so i can sit back and relax. My head is bursting with ideas! I also want it finished so i can get on with my Project Life album. I am way behind! But with all the dust from decorating and everywhere looking like a building site i haven't had a chance to get on with it.
In other not so great news i spent a week in hospital with pancreatitis. Really was the worst pain i have ever been in! And it didn't go away for three whole days even though i was given every pain relief possible. I remember lying there when the paramedic turned up and hearing her say she was gonna give me a shot of morphine, all i could think was its all gonna be ok any second..the pain will stop.. It didn't!! And that started me really panicking. If morphine wouldn't take away the pain then what would. The answer i found out to that was nothing.
I also had a panic attack when the doctor explained all about pancreatitis and said it was life threatening and that i had to be moved to a ward for very poorly peeps where i could be kept an eye on. My mind started wondering...what would happen to my kiddos.. something i cant even bear to think about!
I have to go back and have my gallbladder taken out in July as gall stones are what caused it. My op falls on the day that the kids break up from school so i am gutted i wont get to pick them up and hear all the excited chatter of summer plans. But getting back to good health is all i can really concentrate on so we can go on the adventures we have been planning.
Peace, love and lots of giggles,
love nikki h xo
